Here in Room 10 we have had a VERY exciting Science Week! We did some cool experiments in our classroom from Capillary Action, to Density to investigating the presence of Iron Oxide. We also took part in some excellent workshops which were:
- Invisible Worlds with Marty Jopsen - Mastering Memory with Ginny Smith - Ocean Challenges - Fota Wildlife Park's Giraffe Workshop We also had a fantastic visit from Ruairí and Maria when they came to deliver our class aquarium (please see previous post for further details). On Friday we had our 6th class Science Fair which was absolutely brilliant! We had lots of amazing projects from chemical reactions to making CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), from making storms in jars to investigating the pH levels of various substances. All of the children put a lot of effort into their experiments. Their presentation skills also need to be mentioned as they were absolutely brilliant! On Friday afternoon we took part in the Science Week National "Pick Your Brain" quiz. There were over 1000 teams from schools across the country and our class (Pod 1) won 1st place! Each pod put in a great effort and it was great fun! For winning 1st place, we have been awarded a sponsored whole class trip to a Discovery Maths and Science centre . We are so excited to find out the details! Science Week 2021 - what a week it's been! Take a look at our photos to see what we got up to!
