On Friday, the 27th of February, First class, Room 5, got their very own aquarium installed. They invited along the other first class to share this exciting experience. Ms McNicholas had entered a competition and the prize is to have a marine aquarium in class for a month!
First we listened to Noreen from the Explorers Education Programme explain all about the animals and what we will need to do to look after them.
Noreen brought in some very interesting items to show us. Look at the spider crab shell, lobster claws, shark teeth, a whale's neck bone, a seahorse and some shark skin!!
We had lots of hands on learning before we put our marine visitors into their new home. We have three fish in the tank; A blenny, a flatfish and a butter fish(Gunnel fish). We have a starfish, a common prawn, an anemone and a hermit crab.
