Pangnono Pangnono ndi Mtolo - 5th Class - Rm 13 - Green Schools / Development Education Project20/3/2014 ![]() We have been working on a project under the theme of Global Citizenship as part of Development Education. We have entered our project into the Irish Aid awards 2014 entitled "A Better Future for All the World's Children". The theme blended well with that of our Green School's project, Global Citizenship, litter and waste. We investigated the 8 Millennium Development Goals, which have been set to improve poverty, health, education and environmental issues through partnership. Irish Aid have 9 partner countries, 8 in Africa and 1 in Asia. We really enjoyed finding out all about how they contribute to making the World a more equitable place. They provided excellent resources on their website www.irishaid.ie. Below you will find an explanation of our project, some photos and the lyrics we composed to the melody of "Imagine" by John Lennon to highlight the 8 Millennium Development Goals. Father Martin Reilly inspired us further when he taught us the expression from Zambia and Malawi "Pangnono Pangnono ndi Mtolo" which means "Little by Little, there is a bundle". If we all do our part to tread lightly upon the earth, there will be a better future for all the World's children. May the road rise with you as you make your way..... ![]()
