![]() A quote from the One World Irish Aid Awards Officials: The Our World Irish Aid Awards is all about bringing the world into your classroom… but we want to recognise the hard work of pupils who take part in the Awards all over Ireland by bringing the shortlisted schools together for events all around Ireland to celebrate your work. This year, we have both regional events as well as our annual national final in order to celebrate all the hard work of teachers and pupils engaged in the Our World Irish Aid Awards. We held our regional awards exhibitions the week of 19/05/14. The top 60 projects attended exhibitions in Sligo, Dublin, Limerick and Cork. Check us out on http://ourworldirishaidawards.ie/regional-national-finals/ In Fifth Class, room 13, we were absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted to receive a regional award for our project entitled "Pangnono Pangnono ndi mtolo" (Little by little there is a bundle - old saying in the language of Cichewa from Zambia and Malawi) We researched the 8 Millennium Development Goals and composed and recorded our own version of "Imagine" to highlight these goals. We had great fun researching, compiling and recording our projects and are so proud of our achievement. Our teacher, Ms Sheehan-Jones and three of our class mates, Colm, Cian and Natalija went to the Lime Tree Theatre (in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, pictured above left), to receive our award for excellence in global awareness on May 21st. :-)
