This week in room 10, we became the proud owners of a salt water fish tank when Pádraic from the National Aquarium came to our class for an 'Ocean Explorers' workshop.
Firstly, he began by giving us a quiz to test our marine knowledge! Then he taught us all about the sea creatures we would be getting, along with how to care for them. Once we had all of that taken in, he set the tank up for us and introduced us to our new friends!
In our tank we have a butterfish, a prawn, a periwinkle, a 2 spotted goby, a hermit crab, a sand goby, and a sea anemone. We of course had to personalise them by giving them their own unique (and quite creative) names!
The tank will be here with us for 4 weeks and we will be inviting the other classes down to see it very soon!
Welcome to our school blog.
