During science week we learned about reflection and periscopes proved to be a perfect example of the law of reflection at work. We found that when light falls on a mirror at an angle it is reflected off the mirror at a similar angle. We placed our two parallel mirrors at angles of 45 degrees and so light fell on them and bounced off them at 45 degrees. The total angle through which light was turned was 90 degrees meaning we could see around a corner or look at things that were too high up to see.
