Today we went out into the sunshine to sow seeds. We each got our own pot and sowed baby carrots, runner beans and cress. We watered them and have them left in the sunlight to help them grow.  We are looking forward to taking care of our pots and watching our seeds grow.

Today we had to say goodbye to our Aquarium!  Joanne came to First Class to collect it from us.  Joanne also brought lots of really interesting things for us to see.  She brought Shark's Teeth, Whale's Teeth, Shark's Skin, Lobster Claws, Dolphin Skull, a Whale's Neck Bone, a Star Fish Shell, a Mermaid's Purse and lots of other exciting things.
We are very sad to see the aquarium go but we really enjoyed having here in First Class - we learned so much from it and we all did wonderful projects on it.

Mr. Finlay's 6th class have been doing some work about world poverty. We learned about some of the causes of poverty such as war, drought, natural disasters, etc. It is not only poor countries that suffer from poverty - some of the richest countries in the world still have a lot of it. We also looked at ways we can help and one way is to buy Fairtrade produce in the supermarket. You can get fruit, coffee, tea and even chocolate that is Fairtrade. We did projects on some of the countries that are suffering from poverty. You can download our projects here.
