Today we were delighted to have our Multicultural Day back after two years. It is a day where we celebrate all the different countries of the children in our school and their wonderful cultures and traditions. The children created amazing projects, wore traditional clothes and brought in some delicious food. A huge thank you to all the families who came in to help out. We all had a very enjoyable day!

Well done to our Artists of the Month for May from our 3rd and 4th Classes. What a creative and uplifting display of art from Martyna Mnich & Tudor Cegolea (3rd classes) and Roisín Griffin & Adam Lyons (4th classes). It's always so lovely to see the children's art work in the corridors and all around the school!
We have been getting very creative with our planting! We have been working in the garden planting potatoes, sunflowers, strawberries, radishes, herbs & lots of other plants & seeds. 3rd & 4th classes have been painting rocks to put in the garden. If you look closely you might see a ladybird & some very thoughtful messages - lovely job!
Delighted to share some more amazing creative work from the 3rd to 6th classes to mark Creative Schools Week. Such inspiring creations - well done everyone, so impressive!
Artists of the Month for April - well done to Nastia Navalna & Amy Walsh from 3rd Classes and Ella Joyce & Tara Simon from the 4th Classes. Such wonderful, creative art work being done by all of the children - very impressive!
Lorna and Eamon from Halfords came to visit our school on Tuesday February 2nd to show us how to look after our bikes. We were all very interested in the workshop, we learned how to inflate our tyres, fix a puncture on our tyres, check our saddle, brakes and chain. Lorna and Eamon also reminded us how important it was to wear a helmet and reflective jackets. This year we are hoping to receive our seventh Green School Flag in our school. The theme for this year is Energy and Globalization. In our class we have been learning about the renewable and non renewable energy sources, ways in which we can save electricity and the effects of climate change on our environment. We made brilliant projects on the theme on Energy and Globalization and Climate Change, here are some of us with our fabulous projects: On Tuesday afternoon we had a whole school skipping show in the hall with Lee. Some of us got to demonstrate the new skipping skills that we learned. We have all made wonderful progress since Lee has started coming to the school. Thanks Lee!! A number of girls from 2nd to 5th class played with St.Michaels in the U-10 County Football Final Blitz at the weekend. They won 6 matches, beating An Spidéal in the final. Well done girls, we are very proud of ye!!!
Children from 4th, 5th & 6th classes recently attended a basketball blitz in N.U.I.G which was run by basketball Ireland. The children got to play games, keep scores and times and even referee the games. A great day was had by all.
