Today, in sixth class we had some very special visitors. Carmel and Issac from 'Canine buddies' called into our class and gave a presentation about responsible dog ownership and how to interact safely around dogs. The initiative is run thanks to the backing of Lord Mayor Frank Fahey' who came along to meet the children and see the project in action for himself. The children were shown how to read the body language of a dog, what to do if an angry dog confronts them, and how to look after a dog responsibly.
After the presentation, each child was presented with a certificate and had their picture taken with The Lord Mayor.
The children were very thankful to Carmel and Issac of 'Canine Buddies' and the Lord Mayor for taking the time to come in and work with the class. However, the biggest round of applause was reserved for our two very special guests, 'Marge' and 'Homer' who also took time out of their busy day to come in and say 'hi' to the class!
