Here is a sample of our 1st Class Poems about Winter.
WINTER

Winter is freezing and cold.

I like warm tea in winter.

Winter is exciting and fun and soon

Santa will come in 34 more sleeps!

I wish it was just 1 more sleep to Christmas.

I love Christmas and I love Santa.

WINTER

Santa comes in winter.

Winter is a fun time of year.

We get toys from Santa.

We build snowmen.

It is very slippery in winter.

I will go down to mass.

I will play with my toys and Lego.

Winter is cool.

I like winter.

WINTER

It’s winter time.

Animals hibernate.

We are waiting for Santa.

We are going to see Rudolph!

Good children will get presents.

Winter is fun.

Winter

Santa comes in winter.

We love winter

I like when it is slippery.

We love putting up our Christmas tree.

We like giving Santa his fool.

Santa is good to us.

I love the snow.

WINTER

W: Winter is wonderful.

I: In winter squirrels and hedgehogs hibernate.

N: Nice and cosy clothes for us to wear.

T: The squirrels and hedgehogs gather wood before they hibernate.

E: Enormous animals don’t hibernate.

R: Running on ice makes you slip.

WINTER

W: Winter is here.

I: It is fun.

N: Now the snow is here.

T: Three times I slipped on snow.

E: Even the snow is cold.

R: Rain comes at night.

Living Things- Vertebrates and Invertebrates
In our science class we have been learning about living things. We have classified most living creatures into vertebrates and invertebrates. Vertebrates are all living creatures that have a backbone...like humans! Invertebrates are creatures with no backbone like the blobfish, starfish or a parasite. We did alot of research on the different types and then chose one animal to do a project on. Here are some of our powerpoints, take a look! Just click the link 'download file' to open.

Last week in Miss Cunningham's class we read the story The Gruffalo. We made gruffalo masks and also made the other animals from the story using crepe paper. During drama we pretended to be characters from the story and we also sang The Gruffalo Song. Here are some pictures of us with our gruffalo art:
