The 6th Class pupils have settled in well this September and have been working hard!! The class is full of creative artists and fantastic historians and writers. Below are examples of some of our work. Please feel free to come read our recount writing pieces, we worked hard to publish our final draft! We are studying historical buildings and ruins in our locality also and presented our findings to the class! Take a look.....
We read about the Irish legend of 'Diarmuid and Gráinne' for our History lesson. We then researched other Irish legends on the laptops, such as 'The Brown Bull of Cooley', 'The Salmon of Knowledge', 'The Goblin of Tara', 'Oisín in Tír na nóg', & 'Na Fianna'.
We loved this book by Dr. Seuss called 'My Many Coloured Days.' It was about how we feel different emotions on different days and used colours to represent our feelings.
We're learning about birds in our Buster's First Book of Facts. We are being nature detectives and trying to spot robins, sparrows and blackbirds. In winter we'll put out bird feeders.
In History we learned about Fionn and the dragon.
Meet Buddy. He's our class bear. He loves hugs and tree tunnels! He also loves coming to our houses to see where we live and meet our other toys. We tell our friends at school about his visit.
We were busy working with tens and units today in First Class. We had great fun working in our groups!
