Congrats to the boys and girls who were invited to play at half-time in the Connacht v Edinburgh Pro 14 match recently. Bushypark first led a guard of honour for the teams arriving on the pitch prior to kick-off. Then at half-time the guys got to show their skills in front of over 5,000 spectators. It was a great experience and one they will cherish . Thanks again to Emer and all the organisers at Connacht Rugby and to the parents who helped out on the night.

We have been busy in room 5 sowing seeds. We grew cress, peas and spinach. We needed to water them every few days and we placed them in a sunny part of the room. In room 7 we are preparing very special cards for our wonderful mum's for this Mothers day.8/3/2018 Ms McAllister's 2nd class used our amazing drawing skills to interpret a picture of our choice.8/3/2018 We have been busy in room 4. We made pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. We also were learning about the effects of heat on different objects. Some things like chocolate melt when heated and some things like bread burn when heated. We melted chocolate buttons and we toasted bread. Then we tasted the delicious toast. We were also busy composing music. We can tap rhythms and make songs using different notes.
Here in 5th class we have been doing a lot of research into marine pollution and it's impact on marine life. Some of the facts we learned were astonishing! We paid particular attention to the length of time it takes for various forms of litter to decompose once it enters the sea - did you know that it can take up to 400 years for a plastic bottle to decompose?! We formed project groups and used various tools in order to carry out our research - iPads, books, newspaper articles, etc. We put a lot of hard work into our projects - have a look at the finished products! As part of the Green flag renewal we held a Day of Action in the foyer. Parents, teachers and pupils were invited to see all our wonderful projects based on the theme 'Global Citizenship- Marine Environments.' We hope to raise the awareness of the importance of protecting our marine life from litter and waste.
