Bhí am iontach againn sa halla dár Maidin Gaeilge. Bhí ár obair ar an bhfalla. Bhí ár maisiúcháin orainn freisin.
Ina dhiaidh sin rinneamar cártaí do Lá Fhéile Pádraig.
Bhí rang a haon ag Ceiliúradh Lá le Pádraig agus Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhíomar ag damhsa sa halla agus bhí ár dtuismitheoirí ag breathnú orainn. Bhí a lan craic agus spraoi againn.
Global Citizenship: Our school is doing great work on our Green School theme. We discovered global connections, learned about fair trade, deforestation, chocolate & its origins, China, people & poverty in other countries, extreme climates and lots more!
This year for Seachtain na Gaeilge we put on another ceolchoirm where every class took part and all parents were invited to attend. We had great craic. These photos show a few of the performances we enjoyed :)
Tugann Seachtain na Gaeilge deis ar leith do dhaoine óga ar bhéagán Gaeilge an teanga a labhairt agus a úsáid chomh maith le cúpla focal eile a fhoghlaim. Freisin, tugtar seans do dhaoine óga a bhfuil Gaeilge maith acu an teanga a chleachtadh le cairde nach mbionn á labhairt de ghnáth agus iad a mhisniú. Is iad na daoine óga croílár na féile agus creidim go bhfuil sé fíorthábhachtach go gcoinníonn siad an Ghaeilge mar rud lárnach in saol.
Go raibh míle,
Mr Mc Donagh.
Room 7: Last week we stuck green, white and orange crepe paper onto our Leprechaun templates for St. Patrick's Day.
Rang a dó: Maidin Gaeilge - Bhíomar ag canadh, ag damhsa agus ag seinm uirlisí. Bhainimid an-taitneamh as!!
Ms McAllister's 3rd Class: Last week was very exciting; preparing and performing our music in the halla for 'Seachtain na Gaeilge'. We also did a project on the Life of St patrick.
Look at some pictures of us doing art in Ms McAllister's class . We made our own individual pieces using clay before painting them. We also made St Brigid's crosses with fresh rush.
The 'Airmazing show' in NUIG as part of Engineer's week was very interesting. Look at some pictures from our day.
We were privileged in room 14 to have a visit from some medical students. They discussed the importance of healthy eating with us. We all worked together to fill in a questionaire on healthy eating.
In 3rd class we investigated how light travels, the colour of light and how shadows are formed. We also made our own coloured spining tops.
Ms McAllister's 3rd class were very busy for the month of March. Look at some pictures of us during Drama.
Second class, Room 7: Last week for Mother's Day we painted jars and put our painted handprints on them. We brought in branches and wrote the qualities we thought our Mums had on cut out leaves and hung them from the branches. We also wrote a poem called
How to make a Lava Lamp!
Clean 1litre plastic bottle
Alka Seltzer tablets
How Does it work To begin, the oil stays above the water because the oil is lighter than the water or, more specifically, less dense than water. Water molecules are attracted to other water molecules. They get along fine, and can loosely bond together (drops). Oil molecules are attracted to other oil molecules. But the structures of the two molecules do not allow them to bond together. When you added the tablet piece, it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and creating a gas. As the gas bubbles rose, they took some of the coloured water with them. When the blob of water reached the top, the gas escaped and down went the water.
By the way, you can store your lava lamp with the cap on and to bring it to life by adding another Alka-Seltzer!
We thoroughly enjoyed making our Mother's Day gifts.
We studied our word wall.
We painted our flower pots, hearts and stars.
We repotted our bulbs, wrote our cards and poems and rolled our scrolls.
We hope our Mums enjoy their presents for a very long time.
In room 6 we surprised our mums with cards and flowers on Mothers Day. We all planted daffodils, some of us wrote poems and others wrote thank you letters. They were so happy and so were we!
First Class Room 6 gave nature a helping hand with home made bird feeders. We reused milk and juice cartons. We painted them green to blend into the natural environment, we then cut them into shape. We also made bird food using a variety of ingre
We made cookies for mother's day. First we made the dough, then we rolled it out and used heart-shaped cutters to cut out the cookies. After they were baked, we iced them and then wrapped them. We gave them to our mums for Mother's Day. Our mums were delighted.
Ms. Kelly's First Class entered Freddy Fyffe's Banana Competition which included banana experiments and banana art!
