Bhí am iontach againn sa halla dár Maidin Gaeilge. Bhí ár obair ar an bhfalla. Bhí ár maisiúcháin orainn freisin.
Ina dhiaidh sin rinneamar cártaí do Lá Fhéile Pádraig.

Bhí rang a haon ag Ceiliúradh Lá le Pádraig agus Seachtain na Gaeilge.  Bhíomar ag damhsa sa halla agus bhí ár dtuismitheoirí ag breathnú orainn.  Bhí a lan craic agus spraoi againn.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

This year for Seachtain na Gaeilge we put on another ceolchoirm where every class took part and all parents were invited to attend. We had great craic. These photos show a few of the performances we enjoyed :)
Tugann Seachtain na Gaeilge deis ar leith do dhaoine óga ar bhéagán Gaeilge an teanga a labhairt agus a úsáid chomh maith le cúpla focal eile a fhoghlaim. Freisin, tugtar seans do dhaoine óga a bhfuil Gaeilge maith acu an teanga a chleachtadh le cairde nach mbionn á labhairt de ghnáth agus iad a mhisniú. Is iad na daoine óga croílár na féile agus creidim go bhfuil sé fíorthábhachtach go gcoinníonn siad an Ghaeilge mar rud lárnach in saol.
Go raibh míle,
                         Mr Mc Donagh.

How to make a Lava Lamp!
Ingredients:

Clean 1litre plastic bottle

150ml water

Vegtable oil

Food colouring

Alka Seltzer tablets

Flashlight

Instructions:
  1. Pour the water into the bottle
  2. Use a funnel to pour the oil into the bottle until it is almost full
  3. Wait for the water and oil to separate
  4. Add 10 drops of food colouring to the bottle. The drops will pass through the oil and then mix with the water below
  5. Break a tablet in half and drop it into the water. The tablet will sink to the bottom
  6. To keep the effect going, just add another tablet piece
  7. For a true lava lamp effect, shine a flashlight through the bottom of the bottle

How Does it work To begin, the oil stays above the water because the oil is lighter than the water or, more specifically, less dense than water. Water molecules are attracted to other water molecules. They get along fine, and can loosely bond together (drops). Oil molecules are attracted to other oil molecules. But the structures of the two molecules do not allow them to bond together. When you added the tablet piece, it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and creating a gas. As the gas bubbles rose, they took some of the coloured water with them. When the blob of water reached the top, the gas escaped and down went the water.

By the way, you can store your lava lamp with the cap on and to bring it to life by adding another Alka-Seltzer!

We thoroughly enjoyed making our Mother's Day gifts.
We studied our word wall.
We painted our flower pots, hearts and stars.
We repotted our bulbs, wrote our cards and poems and rolled our scrolls.
We hope our Mums enjoy their presents for a very long time.

We made cookies for mother's day. First we made the dough, then we rolled it out and used heart-shaped cutters to cut out the cookies. After they were baked, we iced them and then wrapped them. We gave them to our mums for Mother's Day. Our mums were delighted.
