We did amazing projects on marine letter and the effect it has on marine life and the environment. We learned lots of interesting facts, like where marine litter comes from and looked at ways to stop it from getting worse. Our school action day took place today for the renewal of our green flag, where got to look at and ask questions about other classes projects. Our school motto is: 'Don't throw litter in the sea, it's bad for the fish and me.'
Look who dropped in to accompany and inspire our current musicians! It was lovely to see some familiar faces and hear their amazing music . Well done to all involved and keep on playing!
6th class explored onomatopoeia this week and loved the fun sounds and words we discovered! We had looked at Pop Art by Andy Warhol last month and further explored the style he used in his work and other examples used in advertisements and comics .
We loved this art project and are very proud of our work! Take a look!
For Valentine's Day in 6th class, we made candle holders for the special people in our lives. We wrote them a Cinquain poem to show them how much we care about them. We hope you all had a lovely day!
We really enjoyed Pancake Tuesday in 6th class. A big thank you to Ms. Regan who made our lovely pancakes! We added our delicious toppings before gobbling them up!

To celebrate Pancake Tuesday in 4th class we decided to make some delicious pancakes in our classroom this morning. We made the pancake mixture in the classroom and then we went to staff room with Ms. Regan to cook our pancakes. When we returned to the classroom we decorated our pancakes with lots of lovely toppings. We had great fun and really enjoyed our pancakes. Here are some pictures of us busy at work:
3rd Class have been busy learning how to write a letter. We were each assigned a secret person in the class and we had to write a letter to them and send it in the post. We were learning how to address envelopes earlier in the year also. We placed our stamps on the top right-hand corner and posted them in the post box outside school! We had a lot of fun and can't wait to receive our letter at home it will be a big surprise!!
We are studying our environment and the impact that we have on our environment in 6th class. It is currently "Plastic Free Week" in school and we are making a conscious effort to avoid using non-biodegradable and non-reusable plastic in school.
We have been using alternatives in school and we actually made our own biodegradable plastic from milk and vinegar which is environmentally friendly!
We had a great morning of tag rugby today. 10 teams took part from Bushypark and Knocknacarra schools. Many thanks to Emer from Connacht Rugby for organising. Tag Rugby training continues on Tuesday's after school.
