We have been learning lots about the human body, especially our digestive system. We took apart a model of the human body for a closer look to see where the parts of the digestive system are. We then reassembled it again. We also watched a video of a piece of foods journey through the digestive system. It was very interesting. We have also been learning about soil and its components. We used magnifying glasses to examine our soil samples more closely. We found grass, roots, stems, leaves, insects, stones, part of a shell and seeds in our soil samples. We were learning about Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) and his amazing inventions and designs. So we planned and made our own. Have a look!! We began by making our designs and then we collected our materials. Watch how we assembled our inventions. Here we are displaying our finished designs. Senior Infants made valentines cards today. Aren't they great? We conducted experiments in science based on forces. Our experiments were called 'Design a Bridge', 'Heavier things are harder to move' and 'Lazy coin'. We learned different ways in which forces work and make things move. You can try these at home! Bushypark NS is celebrating the fact that we have been awarded the January Cup as Connaught Provincial Champions for our achievements in the Mathletes Schools Challenge 2015. We also have two students who are currently all Ireland Champions in the Mathletes Challenge:

We have been learning the names of 2d shapes in Junior Infants. We decided to make pictures from our shapes today. They turned out really well. We made houses, cars, tractors, robots, flowers, faces and motorbikes.
