Last week we held our Active School Week. Many thanks to all those who helped facilitate it especially those who helped out on the daily Walking Buses and to the Active School/ Health Promoting School Committee who organised Sports Day for each class. The Active School / Health Promoting School Committee are currently recruiting new members from fourth class to replace our sixth class members who are leaving shortly. Many thanks to Mikey Maguire, Temitao Adedeji , Ella Kitt and Adie Maldovan who, over the past 2 years, promoted health and activity in our school. Next year we will recommence our work in the Health Promoting Schools initiative and continue to promote health, happiness and respect in our school.
Well done to the third and forth classes for participating and representing the school at Hurling Integration Day at Pier Stadium, organized by the Galway Coaching & Games Committee.
Bicycle mechanics Paul, Colin and Andreas came to our school today to fix the fifth and sixth classes bikes. All fifth and sixth classes had to bring in their bicycles and they had a blast cycling around the school! Today a Garda visited our school t talk about water safety. he went around t all the classes and gave a talk about how to contact the police/ambulance.
This week is Active School Week! there will be games and sports days supervised by the active school committee on the astro turf and people are being encouraged to walk/cycle to school this week!
Well done to our school hurling team, that was victorious against St. Pats. in the county final! It was a brilliant match and all the boys showed all the qualities we seek to promote in young sportspeople. they were a credit to the school and we are all really proud of them! |
